Pothole reports and repairs statistics
This dashboard provides information from Surrey Highways about pothole volumes.
It shows the volume of reports received each month and the volume of pothole repairs (jobs) created each month. Of those jobs created each month, it also shows the volume and % which have been repaired within timeframe. The timeframe for each job to be completed is relative to the priority it has been assigned by the qualified officer within Surrey Highways who raised the job.
More information about this can be found on our website: Highway Safety Inspections - standards and procedures - Surrey County Council (surreycc.gov.uk)
If you require any additional information that isn’t included on this dashboard, please submit a request by filling out the Freedom of information request form or by contacting us directly in writing.
The dashboard can also be found directly on Tableau Public: Pothole Dashboard - Surrey County Council | Tableau Public

Other contextual information:
Pothole report volumes do not directly correlate to pothole repairs because duplicate cases may be raised for one pothole and not all cases meet the intervention level to be a pothole defect.
Details on intervention levels can be found on our website: Highway Safety Inspections - standards and procedures - Surrey County Council (surreycc.gov.uk)
Pothole Jobs may be raised as part of statutory Highways Safety Inspections, emergency reports, ad-hoc inspections or following customer reported pothole enquiry inspections.
While our data is refreshed daily, each month’s statistics for repairs (jobs) are only shown once a full month has passed following the end of that month (i.e. January 2025’s data would only be available from 1 March 2025 onwards).
