Inspections of public services
A wide variety of public services are now subject to regular external inspections. In Surrey this applies both to directly provided services and services commissioned from others - for example, private providers of commissioned social care.
This page details the current inspectorate bodies and signposts how to access the latest inspection reports.
Children's Services
The Office for Standards in Education is the national inspectorate for children's services, covering providers of education and training, childcare and early education, children's social care and other organisations such as childminders and children's centres.

Adult social care services
The Care Quality Commission, or 'CQC', is the inspectorate body for providers of adult social care services. Their home page provides links to details of the Frameworks they apply in inspections, and a searchable database of all inspection reports here:
The CQC publish inspections of care homes, homecare agencies, community services, other service providers, and local authorities (councils).

Health care services

Fire and Rescue Services
HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue services has a remit to assess and report on the efficiency, effectiveness and people of the 44 fire and rescue services in England. Their website, with links to the framework used in inspections, is available here:

Police Forces
