OCSI Local Insight

Local Insight is a user-friendly platform that brings together small-area data, helping you to make informed decisions for the benefit of your community. For an introduction, see here: Local Insight | Community and Neighbourhood Data Platform

Staff working in all Surrey councils, Surrey Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, or in voluntary and community sector organisations operating within Surrey can access Local Insight for free courtesy of Surrey County Council. Create your own profile for local areas with data for England and Wales. Select an area (by name, by postcode, or by drawing on a map) and then choose datasets to view. Build up a customised and printable report for the area and topics of interest.

Census Maps - Census 2021 data interactive, ONS

Explore a variety of data from the 2021 Census at a geographic level using density shaded maps. Areas are limited to Local Authority Districts ('LAD'), Middle layer super output areas ('MSOA'), or where the data permits down to Output Areas ('OA'), which are the smallest single geographic footprints for Census statistics (typically containing between 100 and 625 people, and 40 to 250 households).

The local health tool on Fingertips presents data for middle super output areas (MSOAs), local authorities and England as a whole.

It contains indicators related to: population and demographic factors; wider determinants of health; and, health outcomes.

Local health is a collection of public health indicators presented at small geographical areas. By breaking the data down to small areas, hidden inequalities can be highlighted. The tool enables comparison between small and large areas for a single point in time.
